Biography
Elaine F. Mateo, M.D., is a board-certified adult, child, and adolescent psychiatrist. A 1992 graduate of Texas Tech University Medical School, Dr. Mateo was selected for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Emory University, graduating in 1994. She is a past president of the Georgia Council on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Dr. Mateo has extensive experience practicing psychiatry in both the private and public sectors. Her expertise includes the evaluation and treatment of psychiatric disorders, the identification and management of crisis situations, and understanding the connection between medical conditions and behavior—specifically, how life’s stresses impact emotions and actions.
Her practice addresses both individual and family concerns, providing comprehensive, personalized evaluations for children and adults. She offers a variety of treatment modalities in a safe and supportive environment.
Dr. Mateo is fluent in Spanish.
